The College of Engineering and Natural Sciences (CENS) brings together two broad fields of study, which are in separate colleges in many universities in Turkey: engineering and natural sciences. CENS consists of 6 departments. Three of them accept undergraduate students: Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering  and Industrial Engineering; and the other three departments offer service courses and conduct research; Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, and Bioengineering. Undergraduate curricula are designed in accordance with the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology in the USA (ABET) and follows the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).
In our day, when technological products are designed as a whole, from mobile phones that work like computers to energy-saving circuits and graphic processors, the boundaries between electrical engineering and computer science are loosening. Similar to top engineering colleges in the United States, such as MIT, Stanford, CalTech and UC Berkeley, each of these departments in CENS have prepared a flexible and up-to-date curriculum to bring these two disciplines closer.
In general, CENS adopts an interdisciplinary approach; this gives our students the chance to create their own curriculum according to their imagination, talents and goals.
