İstanbul Şehir University rose with an academic pursuit
which has directed the Foundation for Sciences and Arts since 1986. İstanbul Şehir University, which took the road
as a real “foundation university”, started its actual foundation process in
2007. The University gained “institutional identity” in May 31, 2008 and went
into action in June 1, 2008. The University welcomed its first students in the
Altunizade East Campus in September 2010.
Where is İstanbul Şehir University located?
İstanbul Şehir University has three campuses in Altunizade:
East, West and South Campuses in addition to the Dragos campus. Our university
continues its activities in Altunizade Campuses, under the roof of 6 colleges
with 14 departments. Altunizade East, West and South Campuses are at the center
of the main transportation artery, at walking distance to bus and metrobus
stations and at the Anatolian Side exit of 15th July Martyrs' Bridge. Thanks to their
architectural characteristics, campuses provide a wide environment of study for
its students, facilitates organization of socio-cultural activities and
provides an education nested with city life.

international students increases each year in line with its aims, there are
more than 500 international students from 80 different countries as of 2014-2015

With a reach collection from manuals to electronic
publications, ŞEHİR Library aims to be the biggest university library of the
World in the medium term.
ŞEHİR Library, which started to render service on October
2010, has more than 350.000 printed and electronic publications in its 5th year
in line with its aim of a “big library”. You can benefit from the services
rendered at ŞEHİR Library which provides a comfortable atmosphere for studies
and research with the latest information technologies.
Our library allows access to total 360.318 books, about
103.156 printed and 257.162 electronic books as well as 33.000 full-text
electronic journals. Students can access to ŞEHİR Library freely from campuses,
by using e-mail addresses and the numbers written in the ŞEHİR cards outside
the campuses or with their credentials used for login in MyŞehir via a computer
with internet access.
