Dr. Gündüz graduated from the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Boğaziçi University in 1990. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Banking at Marmara University, Institute of Banking and Insurance. He has published extensively on banking, monetary policy and capital markets in domestic and international scientific journals. Some of his studies were awarded by Banks’ Association of Turkey, Istanbul Stock Exchange and International Management Development Association. He worked as a financial analyst at Ziraat Bank, as a research assistant at Marmara University and as a full-time lecturer and the chair of the department of international trade at Beykent University. Dr. Gündüz served as a member of the Auditing Committee at Yapı Kredi Bank in 2004. He then worked as a full-time member of Board of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) between 2005 and 2017. On the behalf of the CBRT, he also served as a member of the Board Risk Management Committee at the International Islamic Liquidity Management Corporation based in Kuala Lumpur. During his professional career, he continued to lecture on a part time basis at several universities including Bogazici University and Marmara University. As of October 2017, Dr. Gündüz appointed as Professor of Finance at the Department of Management at Istanbul Şehir University.
