Economics and Finance (EconFin)
M.A. in Economics and Finance (EconFin) is designed to equip students with empirical and practical applications of economics and finance. It combines a solid training in microeconomic and macroeconomic principles, as well as the quantitative methods and theory needed for the analysis of financial markets.

Students admitted to the program will be able to benefit not only from engagement with our academic faculty but also from industry practitioners. There are specific courses directly given by prominent industry professionals. Moreover, students will benefit from a range of specialist modules offered by the Graduate School of Business as well.

We offer two options in our EconFin program. The thesis track provides a solid background for the students who also plan to pursue a career in the academia. The nonthesis track is particularly suited for those who would like to develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills and use them in the financial services industry as professionals.

1. Thesis Track offers a specific programme combining advanced analysis in Economics and Finance. It includes 7 courses in total and a master thesis. Normally students are expected to complete this program within two years but are required to complete it at most three years.

2. Nonthesis Track comprises 10 in-depth courses in economics and financial techniques and a time to prepare a term project. This program is typically completed in three semesters at most.
