SOCIOLOGY MA and PhD PROGRAMS

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

1. Will produce an interdisciplinary knowledge for the national and global problems concerning different societies
2. Will know the basics of qualitative and quantitative research data collection methods, analyze the data and interpret them
3. Will know the emergence of sociology as a discipline and the dynamics which led to development of sociology in history
4. Will be familiar with the works and theories of the classical as well as contemporary social thinkers
5. Will have a strong human sciences background and sociological imagination which helps to understand social events in historical contexts
6. Will be familiar with fundamental concepts and discussions in social sciences
7. Will not compromise from universal and scientific ethical principles
8. Will be able to evaluate the contributions of analyzing and interpreting social issues in the global and local level as a sociologist
9. Will have a strong command of languages, particularly English, in terms of not only reading but also writing and speaking
10. Will have the social consciousness and responsibility regarding social problems at global and national level
11. Will demonstrate the ability to use appropriate concepts and ideas and suitable forms of communication according to the audiences
