Incoming Staff Mobility

​ERASMUS+ INCOMING STAFF MOBILITY

Erasmus+ funds two different type of mobility under the KA1 Learning Mobility of Individuals for Higher Education Institutions: 
  • Staff Mobility for Teaching involves a period of teaching activity (min. 2 days and max.2 months) at İstanbul Şehir University. In order to organize an incoming teaching mobility, a valid Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreement should be signed by the parties before the exchange activity. Academic staff from Partner University can teach at undergraduate and/or graduate study level at ŞEHİR during the teaching mobility period and the minimum teaching requirement is 8 hours per week.
  • Staff Mobility for Training involves a period of training activity (min. 2 days and max. 2 months) at İstanbul Şehir University. Administrative staff, research assistants and technical staff and also academic staff from a higher education institution in an Erasmus+ Programme Country can apply for this type of mobility. 

Please kindly note that financial support for incoming staff is provided by the home university. For more information regarding Erasmus+ funds, you may contact the International Office at your home university. 

​​​How to Apply
Interested academic and administrative staff can apply to İstanbul Şehir University by sending an application e-mail to International Relations Office (erasmus@sehir.edu.tr​). The application e-mail should include CV/Academic Resume and Teaching Proposal (only for teaching mobility). After the selection process at the home university of applicant, International Office at the partner university send the selected participants’ information (including CV and teaching proposal – only for teaching mobility) to ŞEHİR International Relations Office. 

Incoming staff (teaching and training) must be individually accepted by the hosting academic or administrative department at ŞEHİR. International Relations Office at ŞEHİR sends the application documents of interested academic or administrative staff to the relevant department for their review.

Before the mobility period, participants should follow the steps listed below and submit the necessary documents to the International Relations Office. (Please click the title of the document to download it):

ŞEHİR International Relations Office prepares a Confirmation of Stay for the participant to confirm the actual duration of mobility period. If you would like to use your university’s format, please bring it with you. We will fill the form and sign/stamp it for you.​


ERASMUS+ INTERNATIONAL CREDIT MOBILITY

International Credit Mobility (ICM) programme offers funded exchange opportunities for academic and administrative staff from partner countries. Incoming staff members at the partner universities of ŞEHİR can also apply for the following type of mobilities at their universities:  
  • ICM Staff Mobility for Teaching enables academic staff from Partner University of ŞEHİR to spend a teaching period between min. 5 days, at least 8 teaching hours, and max. 2 months at ŞEHİR. 
  • ICM Staff Mobility for Training enables administrative and academic staff from Partner University of ŞEHİR to take part in a training program at ŞEHİR with the aim of modernization of administrative processes at the home university and exchange the good practices between two partner universities. Participants spend a period of training between min. 5 working days and max. 2 months.


​​​How to Apply
Interested academic and administrative staff should apply to the International Office at their home universities. After the selection process at the home university of applicant, International Office at the partner university send the selected participants’ information (including CV and teaching proposal – only for teaching mobility) to ŞEHİR International Relations Office.
​​​Grants
ICM with Grant Option
Participants may be awarded an Erasmus+ ICM grant to help cover their living expenses during their mobility period at ŞEHİR. Grant payment is subject to the amount of applications received and availability of funds from the Turkish National Agency. Please note that Erasmus grants are only contribution, meaning may not suffice for all your expenses and participants are responsible for their living expenses during the exchange. 

In addition to the Erasmus+ ICM individual grant, selected participants for Erasmus+ ICM grant receive travel support based on the distance between home university and the host university.

Total amount you receive is calculated on the basis of months and days you actually spend in exchange. 

The grant is usually paid in two instalments:  
  • The first installment (80% of the total amount and total travel support) is paid within 45 days of signing the mobility grant agreement which has to be signed by student and ŞEHİR.
  • The remaining 20% is paid after the participant returns and upon proper delivery of all the required final mobility documents. This second installment will not be paid until all the required documents are submitted.

ICM without Grant Option
Participants who are entitled to receive an Erasmus+ ICM grant may abandon their right to receiving the grant or eligible applicants may benefit from ICM staff mobility through “without grant option” by declaring to the International Office that they want to use this right after the announcement of results.

Additional Grant Opportunity for Staff with Special Needs
Additional grants are available for academic and administrative staff with special needs who wish to participate in Erasmus+ ICM programme and where participation would not be possible without extra financial support. In order to learn more about additional grant opportunities for staff with special needs, please get in contact with ŞEHİR International Relations Office. ​

​​​Before the Mobility

Before the mobility period, participants should follow the steps listed below and submit the necessary documents to the International Relations Office. (Please click the title of the document to download it): 
  • Staff Mobility Agreement for Training/Teaching signed and stamped by all the parties.  
  • Copy of Passport (information pages)
  • Copy of visa (if applicable) 
  • Euro Bank Account: Participants should open a EURO bank account and send the bank account details to the International Relations Office. 
  • Travel Health Insurance 
  • Grant Agreement: The grant agreement is signed by ŞEHİR and the participant before the beginning of the mobility. The grant agreement states the total amount of the ICM individual grant and amount of the total travel support.

​​​After the Mobility

  • Confirmation of Stay​: According to the Erasmus+ ICM regulations, the actual duration of your mobility period has to be confirmed by a certificate.
  • Mobility Tool Final Report: At the end of your mobility period, you will receive an e-mail from European Commission about your Erasmus+ staff mobility. Please complete the survey within 30 days after your departure from Turkey. 
  • Copy of Passport (Entry and Exit Stamps)
