Nazlı İmren is the co-owner of the Şekerci Hacı Bekir Efendi, the oldest company in Turkey – and one of the 100 oldest companies in the world, which was opened in 1777 by the confectioner Haci Bekir Efendi.
Ms. İmren studied at Istanbul German High School and Business Administration department of University of Zurich. She speaks German, English, Russian and French.
Since 1984, she has worked in various non-governmental organizations. Most memorable duty for her is, in 1992, in Beykoz Rüzgarlıbahçe, they carried out work with Çekül Foundation on the field with approximately 15,000 volunteers for the 100.000 tree campaign.
Between 1992 and 2005, she participated in many domestic and international yacht races. She won a lot of trophies. The most important ones are: 1993/1995/2003and 2004 Turkey Offshore Racing Club; 1995 Istanbul Sailing Club and 2001 North Aegean Week Trophy. Since 1994, she has held various positions within the Turkish Sailing Federation. Between 2000 and 2004, she served as the President. She was reelected to the Presidency at the First General Assembly of the Autonomous Sailing Federation which was held in 2006. She completed this post in 2008 after 2 terms.
She served as the Vice President of International Sailing Federation between 2008 and 2016. Her responsibility included Training and Development, Mainly in African countries, all developing countries in the sailing branch. She has worked in the organization committees of international sailing races since 1994. She also joined Turkey's National Olympic Committee in 2004 and joined the Foundation on behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 2008 Olympic Sailing Association Nominated work.
