Vedat Akgiray graduated from Boğaziçi University, Department of Business Administration in 1980. He received his MA in Finance in 1982, MA in Economics in 1985 and Ph.D. in Finance from Syracuse University in the same year. Professor Akgiray is one of the founders of the Master's Program in Financial Engineering at Boğaziçi University. Between March 2009 and December 2012, He is the Chairman of the Capital Markets Board of Turkey. In the same period, Akgiray served as Vice President of IOSCO and Chairman of the Committee of Developing Countries. In this period, he led the team that prepared the new Capital Markets Law which came into force. He is still a professor at Boğaziçi University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration. Professor Akgiray is the head of the Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation Application and Research Center which. He established in 2014 at Boğaziçi University. Also, he is a member of the Advisory Board of the Millstein Center under Columbia University Law School.

Adnan Büyükdeniz, one of the finance industry doyen, which has a significant contribution to the development of the participation banking in Turkey and was general manager of Albaraka Türk for years died in 2009. He was born in 1958. Adnan Büyükdeniz graduated from Boğaziçi University, Department of Economics in 1980. He received a diploma of Economics from the London School of Economics in 1981 and a master's degree in economics from the same school in 1982. He started his career as Researcher Economist at TÜSİAD in 1982 and continued as Research Marketing Assistant Manager, Foreign Affairs Manager and Deputy General Manager at Albaraka Türk. He gave lectures on "monetary theory and policy", "international economics" and similar courses at Marmara University between 1992-2000. Büyükdeniz has various academic and other publications. From 2003 to 2009 he served as General Manager of Albaraka Türk. He was married and had 3 children.
