Dr. Levent Güntay

Dr. Levent Güntay is at the Özyeğin University Faculty of Business, International Finance Department. He is also the Director of the Center for Financial Engineering and the Financial Engineering Graduate Program. Dr. Güntay obtained his B.S. degree from Boğaziçi University, Electrical and Electronics Department in 1996, M.B.A from Boğaziçi University in 1998, and Ph.D. in Finance from University of Maryland, Smith School of Business in 2003. Dr. Güntay worked as an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University (2003-2009). He then worked as a Senior Financial Economist at the U.S. Federal Deposit Insurance Fund Research Department (2009-2015). Between 2015 and 2018 he was at the MEF University Business Administration Department and also served as Department Chair (2017-2018). Dr. Güntay’s areas of expertise are banking, risk management, credit risk, asset pricing and fixed income. Levent's research was published in academic finance journals including the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Intermediation and the Journal of Financial Services Research.
