Ferenc Péter Csirkés, Sabancı University

Ferenc Péter Csirkés is assistant professor of history in Sabancı University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 2016. His research and teaching mostly relate to Iranian History, Ottoman History, Ottoman Turkish Literature, Persian Literature, Cultural History, Central Asian History. Among his recent publications are “Messianic Oeuvres in Interaction: Misattributed Poems by Shah Ismail and Nesimi,” Journal of Persianate Studies 8 (2015), and “Mystical Love as the Day of Judgment. Eschatology in Jalāl al-Dīn Rūmī’s Dīvān-i kabīr,” Acta Orientalia Academiae Scientiarum Hungaricae 64/3 (2011).
